During geothermal production, with large flow rates, there is often the practical constraint is that all produced water has to be reinjected. Mostly the injector well is the limiting factor. We would like to limit the rate in the producer to the injector rate.
In Eclipse the producer rate can be limited to the injection rate with the GCONPROD INJV functionality. This is similar to the GCONINJE VREP functionality for limiting the injection, which is already available in OPM.
Note that this VREP functionality is not working (for water production) in the 10.2020 OPM release, but is now working again (https://github.com/OPM/opm-simulators/pull/3075).
Ps: Ideally we would like to impose the constraint of zero net flow at surface.
