Yes. the term 'status' is defined in OPMI: http://purl.obolibrary.org/obo/OPMI_0000326 It was added when we found a need for the term to cover various terms of statuses such as marital status, socioeconomic status, and health status.
Here is a suggested definition: status: a realizable entity that represents a position, rank, state, or condition in relation to a pool set of related entities such as a related population in a society or in the eyes of the law, or a set of circumstances. The status is realized in a specific Reference: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/status
We defined it as a subclass of realizable entity because it meets the definition of the term: realizable entity: A specifically dependent continuant that inheres in continuant entities and are not exhibited in full at every time in which it inheres in an entity or group of entities. The exhibition or actualization of a realizable entity is a particular manifestation, functioning or process that occurs under certain circumstances.
Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.
The term 'status' is created in OPMI under the realizable entity (BFO) without a definition. This is a very important term. Definition and rational of status as a realizable entity is needed.
