strapping-mediawiki skin included in MediaWiki official release #43

The strapping-mediawiki skin brings a novel approach and some MediaWiki community contributors are thinking that it would be a good idea to include it in the MediaWiki official releases at some point.

Are you interested? A first step in the direction would be to maintain this project at https://git.wikimedia.org/summary/mediawiki%2Fskins%2Fmediawiki-strapping and to introduce code review practices, just like we do with the rest of MediaWiki software. (currently there is a repo with an old fork that it was tested at https://wikitech-test.wmflabs.org/wiki/Main_Page?useskin=strapping )

It is possible to have a repository mirrored and linked between gerrit.wikimedia.org and GitHub, and we would be happy to help setting up this sync.

Also a page at mediawiki.org under https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Skins would be useful.

We are discussing these ideas at

Enable strapping-mediawiki skin in mediawiki.org as optional & experimental https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47091

but of course we are watching the discussion here as well. Let us know!

DISCLAIMER: although I work for the Wikimedia Foundation this is a personal request as hobbyist MediaWiki admin and someone that likes this skin.

I have updated the report since there is some interest in actually include this skin in the official MediaWiki releases - https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47091#c8 (Mark A. Hershberger is the MediaWiki release manager).
