Measures are always put in alphabetical order #120

I want measures in the order I place them, not alphabetically sorted. E.g. the Sales cube contains Store Sales, Store Cost, Profit. I cannot place these measures in this (correct) row order since it's shown as Store Cost, Store Sales, Profit

buggtb commented 12 years ago

There are some limitations on the measure ordering in Saiku because of issues (once more) with the Olap4J query model. Quite how they affect this scenario i'm not sure but its sounding like the issue.

pstoellberger commented 12 years ago

i think we can fix that with the new query model scheduled for 2.3

the new query model that we talked about a year ago is in the making, the backend code partially exists already and this issue will definitely be solved with that. now the question is only how much time i can invest in building this.. get in touch if you want to sponsor/support/help! ;-)

We would love to sponsor some features of the project. Let me know what is on your current roadmap. I will be more than happy to talk about more features we would love to see as a part of Saiku.

Looking forward to hearing from you! Brandon

Can you drop me a mail at contact(at)analytical-labs.com and tell me what you want to see? I'll send you my roadmap in return then ;-)

+1 huge, this is the only thing keeping us from switching from JPivot in our demos. Our team as well might be able to spare some bandwidth on this issue.

rodrigonovo commented 11 years ago

+1!

pstoellberger commented 11 years ago

hm, we wont be able to solve it in all cases, as soon as you select multiple levels from another dimension on the same axis it will have to be sorted by force again

would it help if in all other cases it wouldn't impose that sorting?

rodrigonovo commented 11 years ago

In my opinion? It will be a huge help, even with that (little) limitation... :)

Measures names are in alphabetical order, but the values on grid are in the order I dragged them (first-to-last). Saiku 2.5 compilation 193.
