Group and Report Totals #50

Closed buggtb closed 7 years ago

buggtb commented 12 years ago

Add ability to query and see per group totals. Basically, in addition to displaying just the lowest level cells, retrieve the totals for other levels of granularity and display those.

+1 this will be really nice

all4miller commented 12 years ago

Where is this on the priority list? Keeps coming up with our user base.

goncalvesr2 commented 12 years ago

+1 for totals on displayed values, would be great.

alaindebecker commented 11 years ago

That one is a must. Or maybe; I missed something in the user guide.

pstoellberger commented 11 years ago

you can view the totals by clicking on the "hide parents icon" in the toolbar

for visual totals we will have an option as well soon i also have plans to display the totals of a all rows / all columns

alaindebecker commented 11 years ago

Thanks Paul. Works fine for me.

The Total first option may be a surprise for user expecting the report format. However it is far more natural for analysis (and a competitve distinction).

Draging in and out the "(all)" category is very handy.

Possibly -- on the long term priority list -- make totals more visible (bold, border-top,...) or a very neat format I saw once in an Insurance company: indent-left... The Business Analysits did love to look the total first then the detail, and were able to navigate comfortably trough 5 level of detail.

Mitarbeiter (All) Spesen Betrag

Lichtenhahn Martin All Expenses 3407.00 Verpflegung 782.90 Unterkunft 743.75 Bahn, Tram, Bus, Taxi 1760.10 Projektkosten 120.25

Meili Eric All Expenses 3097.10 Unterkunft 1462.00 etc

pstoellberger commented 11 years ago

i cant really see the format in your post but highlighting is on the todo as well

alaindebecker commented 11 years ago

Paul, You probably saw it.

I admit, it is so unusual that most people think it is a formatting problem. But I can garantee that Business Analysts (unlike Accountants) get soon addicted.

Technically, replace by or by +=

But do not start your todo just for that. The functionality is here, the cosmetic will follow.

Thanks for your Saiku, AlainD [image: Inline image 3]
