City Bus route reassignment, modifications based on LTFRB Memorandum Circulars 2022-067,074,082,083 #89

Open DP24PH opened 1 year ago

DP24PH commented 1 year ago

Since the COVID-19 Alert level adoption and the establishment of the Pandemic-based City Bus routing, LTFRB has refreshed its City Bus routing scheme as of 18 August 2022, thus reassignment got occurred, superseding the papercut_fix ticket #64. Unaffected and existing GCQ City Bus routes will be renamed as "GCQ City Bus" to avert confusion and to have its continuity until it got fully migrated to the new scheme. _This migration is in effect from the commencement of this papercutfix ticket publishing until its completion.

UPDATE: As of 24 December 2022, the majority of these routes below are mapped, and now undergoing review.

The following routes are hereby reassigned into a new numbering scheme:

PNR Augmentation Bus Routes due to ongoing NSCR construction:

NOTE: * indicates the ongoing issue of highway standardization since the City Government of Dasmariñas uses the Gov. Remulla Highway/Avenue/Road on all its infographics (see comments below), and as of writing, the IRR of RA 11047 is yet to be published. [OK] tags indicate the completed route mastering.

UPDATE: To address some confusion over the 6 new routes identified thru MC 2022-083 vs the current MC 2022-074's City Buses 54 and 55, succeeding numbers will begin from 56-61 until further clarified by the LTFRB.

@DP24PH Don't forget Governor’s Drive is still used, and use Ayala instead for those ending or passing at One Ayala.

TagaSanPedroAko commented 1 year ago

@DP24PH All routes are already mapped, but keep this issue open as there may be more routes to come.

We should consider grouping these routes whether they are modified GCQ routes, modified pre-pandemic routes, or new routes.

For GCQ routes:

For modified GCQ routes:

For modified pre-pandemic routes:

The following are the new routes:

With respect to this, however, our City Government of Dasmariñas is now adopting Gov. Remulla Highway/Avenue/Road on all its infographics [1]. This poses confusion for us mappers, and LTFRB is yet to be aware of RA 11047. Hopefully, standardization is needed across government agencies/offices, organizations, and citizens thru further IRR (that is yet to be published as of this writing).

@DP24PH It doesn't matter to mappers when the government of Dasma has officially adapted some form of the official name of Governor's Drive. This reminds me of your hasty renaming of that and Molino–Paliparan when the bills renaming them (that I'll take as symbolic) into their new names were signed. Let's wait for years until everyone is aware of it, then we go with the newer name.

@DP24PH Just a note about EDSA Busway: that refers to their dedicated lanes along EDSA, and not the service using it, EDSA Carousel, which is route 1.

@DP24PH Also don't forget to add notes for routes 6 and 20. Those have two variants, one from 8AM to 5PM, and another for rest of the day (suffixed N = night), due to daytime traffic scheme around Tungko.

For EDSA Busway review: highway=busway is hereby used per the latest OSM wiki to address such queries on proper busway tagging. Likewise, EDSA Carousel branding still remains on bus routing to avert confusion.

NOTE: PITX has its nighttime commuting scheme wherein beyond 9pm, all SB City Bus routes 27, 29, 31(D), and 32 will be redirected to Gate 5 until end time (10pm or 11pm) due to terminal maintenance activities at the 2nd floor. Hence, it is also suffixed with N.
