Used 'Social Media Widget' plugin to add the social media links for project pages. Added widget areas to each project page and we are using 'Shortcode Exec PHP' plugin to add shortcodes (added in Tools -> Shortcode Exec PHP) which are then added to the top of the text body of each project page.
The next step would be to incorporate a social media link plugin into the page creation itself, much like featured image is now.
