Nxp fixes #19

Needs testing on the NXP-based HMDs (HDK 1.x and dSight) but this fixes a large number of warnings making the warning list useful again. It also fixes some potential bugs that had been hidden by the disabled warnings.

I've rebased this on build-improvements to build a testing binary (snapshot-2.00-18-g4852641) and will send it for testing.
