October 2020 - Planning #45

Summary

Work has already started on milestone 2020 v2 which is aimed to simplify setup of the development environment.

The Starfleet RFC has been released publicly (see here). At this time I have some ideas of what needs to happen to support this but we will need to wait for the choice of ETH vs Substrate to be decided by OriginTrail. There is a new Milestone to track work for Starfleet.

Recent Changes

The online count of nodes will also be reset as part of this release so it can hopefully be tracked more accurately after some recent code fixes now deployed to the release/testnet branch. This is going to reduce the total count of online nodes in the mainnet network.

The build server has been installed at https://juno.origin-trail.network/. The deployment server has been configured at https://othub.octopus.app/.

.NET Core has been upgraded to 3.1 (LTS) on both testnet and mainnet branches.

Feedback about My Nodes to be organised at a later date:

but small cool additions would be :
Order nodes by names
Sum of jobs, locked tokens, etc.

Development has slowed down in anticipation for the Starfleet network. I may have slowed down dev a bit too quickly (to give myself time in the future for Starfleet support).
