RapidCRC Unicode 0.3.31 (Inter-process communication failed: Could not open pipe) #69

Hello! I use Directory Opus and sometimes I get an error window. I do from the context menu. I do not know which program is to blame for Directory Opus or RapidCRC Unicode. Attached a photo.

Why is no one writing, no answer? Why do I sometimes get such errors? This has never happened before in earlier versions of the program.

OV2 commented 4 years ago

I have not had the time to try anything with directory opus. Do you also get the errors when you are using it in explorer?

Nothing has changed with the communication, the only difference is that it was compiled with a newer visual studio.

Thanks for the answer. I wrote here too https://resource.dopus.com/t/rapidcrc-unicode-inter-process-communication-failed/34839 I rarely get this error, 1-2 times a month I don’t know how it is better for me to check, not to use Directory Opus? I have been using RapidCRC Unicode since 2015, but there have never been such errors, it appeared only in 0.3.31. Now I put RapidCRC Unicode v0.3.29 back and it has been working fine for a week now, there are no errors. What should I do? Install RapidCRC Unicode v0.3.31 again and do not use Directory Opus or continue watching RapidCRC Unicode v0.3.29?

Is there anything in common to the situations when this happens? Is RCRC already open? Multiple instances?

The error can only really happen if rcrc takes too long to connect to the pipe opened by the shell extension, there is a five second timeout.

I do not know when this happens. Maybe when there is some kind of load, deleting or moving files has just been done. Specifically, I recently did a load, deleted a 3Gb file and started it in parallel from the RapidCRC context menu and everything is fine, there are no errors.

Is RCRC already open? Multiple instances?

I do not start the main window. I always use from the context menu.

The error can only really happen if rcrc takes too long to connect to the pipe opened by the shell extension, there is a five second timeout.

And when and in what cases can it happen? Previously, it’s never happened in earlier versions.--------------------------------------What I wanted to ask is, could this KeyScrambler create a conflict? The latest versions of KeyScrambler have problems with other programs too. I wrote about this here:https://resource.dopus.com/t/keyscrambler-problem/34574I wrote to the author of KeyScrambler. At the beginning, he corrected errors, released new versions. But I noticed other errors and again wrote to him. He never answered the last letter, I will forward it to you, you can read it. There and the video is in this letter "Directory Opus 12.19.6 (Beta) & KeyScrambler 3.14.0.1 problem"--------------------------------------What i did now:

  1. I completely removed the KeyScrambler program from my computer.
  2. Installed 04/21/2020 Your latest version of the program RapidCRC Unicode v0.3.31Today is 04/25/2020 and never before has there been an error, it works well. Let's see how it will work further. I’ll write you something. Thank you very much for a good and useful program. I wish you health and success.

Today 04/27/2020 I received an error. 2020-04-27_103152 2020-04-27_103213

04/21/2020 I reinstalled RapidCRC Unicode v0.3.31 and here is the first error in 6 days. I don’t know what to do, how to check the error yet? Advise how and what to choose:

  1. Disable Directory Opus and in Windows Explorer to work, but is it very inconvenient?
  2. Or install RapidCRC Unicode v0.3.29 and continue to work in Directory Opus, see if there will be an error in this version?

Hello. You wrote correctly:

The error is https://resource.dopus.com/t/rapidcrc-unicode-inter-process-communication-failed/34839 When a large load on the computer, we run the program RapidCRC Unicode and get a long wait, so we get an error. I disabled Directory Opus and started checking in Explorer. I tested portable 0.3.29 and 0.3.31. In Explorer, I got an error in two versions. This is due to the load on the computer. I checked like this, I started making a lot of archives and then ran RapidCRC and only then got an error.
