Hey there, More than happy to do translation in hindi. I'm developer from India

PauloASilva commented 1 year ago

Hi @puneeth072003, I believe it is important to have every and each OWASP API Security Top 10 edition translated in as many languages as possible, nevertheless I should let you know we are already working on a 2022 edition, which should be released soon.

If you're still willing to proceed with the translation (which I would greatly appreciate), please let me know and I'll assign this issue to you so that you can lead the translation effort in case someone else wants to joint.

Cheers, Paulo A. Silva

Hi @puneeth072003, The issue was assigned to you.

Translation should be straightforward, but in case of doubt you can always check previous translation issues in order to get generic guidelines.

You won't find me often in the OWASP's Slack: the best way to reach out to me regarding this issue is commenting here.

Cheers, Paulo A. Silva

@PauloASilva OK, thanks for assigning the issue btw.

@PauloASilva Hey i was busy with another issue now since it is resolved, i can commit my full time here translation/hi-hi is the branch name ok?

PauloASilva commented 1 year ago

Hi @puneeth072003, the branch name doesn't really matter, but I would suggest naming the translation folder hi or hi-in, Hindi (India) if that is the case (name the branch accordingly).

To start translating:

  1. fork this repository
  2. create the translation/hi-in branch in your fork
  3. recursively copy the /2019/src/en folder to /2019/src/hi (or /2019/src/hi-in depending on how you decided to name the folder)
  4. start translating the Markdown files in /2019/src/hi/src/ (commit often)
  5. once you're done translating the Markdown files, you'll need to render them and manually update the /2019/src/hi/dist/owasp-api-security-top-10.odt
  6. generate the /2019/src/hi/dist/owasp-api-security-top-10.pdf from the ODT file (LibreOffice can easily do that)

Please let me know in case you need further assistance.

Cheers, Paulo A. Silva

Hey @PauloASilva This comment is to confirm that we are Half way done with the translation of markdown files I'll create a PR when we finish it completely.

puneeth072003 commented 1 year ago

@PauloASilva Can you share some info on how to render the md files to ODT?

PauloASilva commented 1 year ago

@puneeth072003 unfortunately it is a manual process: you can copy the contents from GitHub (since it will render the Markdown source) and paste them into LibreOffice.

puneeth072003 commented 1 year ago

@PauloASilva Sorry for false PR, he is one of my collaborator and we are working together on same forked repo available at https://github.com/puneeth072003/API-Security I sincerely apologize for my mate's mistake and about the progress we are almost done with translation of markdown files. As of now we will remove this PR and make a official PR soon.

PauloASilva commented 1 year ago

@puneeth072003, no worries, no need to apologize. Let me know in case you need further guidance.

Cheers, Paulo A. Silva
