I made some low-level code that seems pretty useless now; maintain a list of things for potential deletion here:

[ ] hypercubes
[ ] inhibitionRadius behaving as Float. I'm just using its field, and although it would be more elegant to use InhibitionRadius as a number, I would need to overload a few more methods, like -(::InhibitionRadius, ::InhibitionRadius)
