Description of issue Crash when closing ecrire with text displayed

Steps to reproduce

Sounds like #32 is back. It is some what ecrire specific. Its very odd, as the same code is used on window close as regular document close. I will see if I can resolve it for good this time. I thought I had it last time, but I guess not. It seems shutdown is different from the window close than from other means like closing the document using the close button on the toolbar. Or opening a new document, which closes the current. Those all work fine, its just the window close, that seems to differ.

@ApostolosB that should fix the issue, if not I can re-open. Seems to work for me. It did crash before the change. Thanks for the link to the upstream issue, and their suggestions. Thanks to @haxworx for the suggested fixes.
