Any MCOMS sensors on gliders ?

catsch commented 2 months ago

What we should also consider regarding Chlorophyll-A is the SLOPE/GAIN factor regarding Wetlabs/seabird sensors reported here : https://aslopubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1002/lom3.10185 and tackle this topic is still ongoing work in the BGC Argo community

I do not know of MCOMS (quickly googled it and looks like the same-ish as an wetlabs ecopuck, as in the ecopuck being the glider version of a profiler MCOMS? I may be wrong though)

Thanks for sharing the paper!

This one may be also interesting for the SOP, https://doi.org/10.13155/35385 (even if it is Argo stuff and not applicable directly for gliders) on BGC argo floats, we do have ECO PUCK and MCOMS sensors (mostly on american floats), my understanding is that MCOMS sensors are more sensitive than ECO PUCK

Ahh I see! I mainly have experience with SeaExplorers have MCOMS has not been implemented. I will be at NOC next week and I can ask there if they know whether or not they are used for Slocum and Seaglider
