In this PR I just want to test the more advanced citation styles as described here: https://jupyterbook.org/content/citations.html#selecting-your-reference-style

Hi @gkrahmann, @jbusecke

the preview looks good.

I just let you review this to see that also different citation styles are possible in the text. For the referencing at the end we try to make this nicer for the oxygen SOP and will implement here after we succeed.

jbusecke commented 2 years ago

I like these a lot, but the problem now is that the in-text citations do not correspond to the ones in the bibliography, making the latter kinda useless... I think most of the time people are going to click on the link anyways (instead of navigating to the bib section), so it might not be that much of a problem. But then should we hide the bibliography until we figure out how to modify the names there?

soerenthomsen commented 2 years ago

Hmm just realised that just the year is linked, but I think this is "ok". At least it directs me to the right citation in the bibliography. For this SOP it is not as urgent and happy to not merge this PR for now. But for the oxygen SOP we want to close the review this week so let's try to fix this whole issue including the bibliography.

I realised that in the oxygen SOP we do use these different citation styles already throughout the document. I will merge this also here for now. The major issues of the references style remains for all SOPs to be solved.
