OceanOPS has opened a regional office in Monaco to enhance its support for the Mediterranean Observing System. To ensure accurate reporting, new tools, static maps, and KPIs focusing on the Mediterranean Region need to be developed.
1) Search Option:
The Mediterranean Region should be divided into three sub-basins: Mediterranean Sea, Black Sea, and Mediterranean Region (including both the Black Sea and the Mediterranean Sea).
2 Integrated Dashboard:
Create a static monthly map for the Mediterranean Sea, covering all platforms, based on the "OceanOPS Integrated Atlantic Ocean Observatory."
To comply with the report card, create 3 monthly static maps for the Mediterranean Sea. The first one only for VESSELS (including SOT + GO-SHIP) the second one only for Fixed Platforms (including GLOSS + OCEANSITE + DBCP - Moored buoys + Tsunami - + HF RADAR) and the third one for moving platforms only (including DBCP drifting buoys, profiling floats, gliders, and anibos).
Compute and display KPIs for the Mediterranean Sea, for all networks, (at this time only available for Argo, see figure below), as they are presented for the "global Ocean."
3 Networks Dashboard:
Argo: Create monthly static maps for the Mediterranean Sea, the first one for national contributions, the second one for sensors, and the last one for OneArgo (core Argo floats, BGC floats, and deep floats, each represented with different colors on the same map).
-DBCP : Develop KPIs and monthly maps, similar to the "Drifting Buoys Polar" style, for the Mediterranean.
OceanSITES: Develop KPIs and monthly maps (country & status) for the Mediterranean.
GLOSS: Develop KPIs and maps showing platform locations for the Mediterranean.
SOT: Develop KPIs and maps (following the SOT integrated model) for the Mediterranean.
GO-SHIP: Develop KPIs and maps for the Mediterranean.
Glider: Develop KPIs for the Mediterranean Sea (maps already exist).
