Prerequisites
The bug
The first login attempt fails when using domain authentication with a different account to the computer account. The user is told that "An error occurred with Windows authentication, possibly due to a known issue, please try using forms authentication". The login will succeed if attempted again.
What I expected to happen
The login process should complete successfully on the first attempt.
