This is due to $FileGroup adm in /etc/rsyslog.d/10-octopussy.conf

if the group does not exist, rsyslogd will not start (or with a 100% cpu usage)

thanks for the information.

But what is the best thing to do for OpenSuse ? Is there another group ?

Should I just indicate that in the installation documentation ?
