Pausing a video causes it to resume without audio #2810

Bug This is a strange one, started happening a few weeks ago I think. If I am watching a video, and then I pause it, even for a few seconds, then when I click play it plays without audio.

I can stop and replay it, and even seek, and it will not have audio. I can leave the page, or close the browser entirely, and it still won't have audio when resuming from that point. But I can get the audio back by playing from the beginning, or by seeking to a different location and then letting it play without audio for a while - eventually the audio will return after playing in silence for a while.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Go to a video and play it for a few minutes.
  2. Pause the video for 10 seconds.
  3. Click play again.
  4. Video plays without audio.

Expected behavior The video should have audio immediately upon resuming playback.

System Configuration On odysee.com, Windows 10 and on Mac. Firefox 113.0.1 (64-bit)

Is this also happening on other browsers for you? Might be a Firefox specific bug or change they did.

Hmm I can't reproduce it in Chrome. However, Odysee is the only affected website in Firefox, all other video sites work fine.

It's most likely something inside videos itself, or a browser bug. Will try Firefox here.

We'll look at videos updates, but the next major one still had some issues to work out.

I doubt it will help, but just curious -- does hitting Ctrl m help to clear things?
