I think, that the same reason and solution as for issue #5: The launch config is OS-specific, it's made for MacOS. Another launch config is needed for Windows (and maybe for Linux). The VM argument startOnFirstThread was added by the IDE since it is required on MacOS, but (AFAIK) does not exist on other operating systems.

I work on a windows platform. I can prepare a specific launch config if you want. Should I open a new issue in the base project for that?

I think, you can just add a new launch config in your PR for XCore (or in a separate PR). We do not need an issue for a PR.
