Migrate knowledge bases to Custom Question Answering #173

Recently we deploy FaqPlus in our tenant for testing porpuses, doingon Step 4: Create the QnA Maker knowledge base we realize that QNA Maker will be retired on 31 March 2025, and beginning 1 October 2022, you won’t be able to create new QnA Maker resources or knowledge bases.

Migrate knowledge bases to Custom question answering Custom question answering returns higher quality responses powered by a deep learning ranker, supports unstructured content, powers optional short answers, supports knowledge bases in multiple languages and is available across multiple regions. To migrate your knowledge bases to Custom question answering, you should create a Language resource with Custom question answering enabled.

How will this affect future implementations, will FaqPlus support "Custom question answering"? We would like to know if this project will continue to have support in the near future.

Hi @Emilianosanchezlopez, thank you for raising the query, yes we're aware of this change, we are working on upgrading the FAQ Bot template pointing to Question and Answering to replace QnA Maker and the changes will be made available to partners before 1st Oct 2022. We will document the steps for existing partners to migrate to Question and Answering from QnA Maker gradually. Yes this app template will be supported for customers in future as well.
