Like the idea. I think Winters suggested something like this a while ago but the way he talked about it made it seem far too complex.
Just spit-balling but could we have it so that your proficiency with a weapon determines certain things about how it works? Like in the setup character menu you can be proficient with sharp weapons, blunt weapons, smol gun bois and bigg gun bois. I dunno how hard it'd be to implement or what it'd add to the game but eh, it's an idea.

As it currently stays, dismemberment has a chance of happening equal to the weight class -1 by the weapon's force if said weapon is sharp and at least has a weight class of 3 (Normal weight)
That means that usually, medium sized weapons will have double their attack power in chance to dismember, and that's just crazy.
Alongside this issue I want to add an idea regarding "weapon preferences", like maybe you should be able to open up a menu regarding your character in which you could config your own "intentions" with weapon swings. For example:
This could actually be implemented with the current intentions system.
HELP = Soft strikes DISARM = Disarm with weapon GRAB = Block strikes HARM = Normal attacks.
