No sorting by custom profession in Linux

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Create custom profession
2.Assign Dwarf to said profession
3.Hit "Commit changes"

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
DT 0.5.7, DF 0.31.12, Arch Linux 32-bit

NOTE: After assigning a custom profession, if I switch to another sorting 
scheme (say, legendary status) and then back to sorting by profession, the 
custom name appears correctly, but once I hit Commit it reverts to the default 
professions (the names, not the skills).

forgot to add what is expected:
It's expected to see the dwarves sorted in groups with the name of their custom 
profession. Instead I see the default names.

no work on this front yet? The latest pull from hg still has this bug, which is 
a major drawback when using this app.

Rolling this into issue 175 - requires same fix as not being able to assign 
nicknames.
