Dwarves each have a preferred booze, favorite food, favorite gemstone, favorite
mineral, favorite animal, and favorite manufactured items. This information is
available in DF when you look at the Dwarf's bio, but it is not searchable and
it is difficult to compare dwarves.
It would be helpful if this information could be displayed with the other
mouse-over information about a dwarf's personality.
It would be incredibly awesome if this information could be assembled as a
database and made searchable.
The most obvious application is selecting a mayor or Baron: Dwarves that like
copper, agates, and picks make easier and cheaper mandates that dwarves that
like tin-alloys and breastplates. Other uses include making it easy to single
out dwarves when making custom furniture. If there are 7 dwarves that like
marble, I can make 7 marble cabinets and send them to the proper bedrooms. If
you're a more violent type, this also makes it easy to cull the fortress of
dwarves with needs you can never fulfill (like dwarves that want fine pewter
statues when neither you map nor your civilization have access to tin). Thanks!
