Starting DF from within Dwarf Therapist #361

Sorry, no screenies, but I was just wondering...

I'm a newbie to Dwarf Fortress, but I don't really see why people get
frustrated with it/give up learning to play it. Of course I'm not vain enough
to try ASCII when I can get somewhat functional pixels but anyway...

Dwarf Therapist is, as all people say, something that you need to run alongside
your game - but I don't want two icons on my desktop to run, essentially, one
program! Would it be possible to make it so that we could start DF from within
Dwarf Therapist? On behalf of many people, I'm guessing, I am making this
request, as personally I don't really mind having an extra couple of things
here and there if it makes life easier in the long run.

Sorry for my babbling,

Thanks

I would argue as far as saying this is a necessary feature for Linux, given the
ptrace limitations added by the more recent distribution prohibits reading of
memory of non-child processes. If DwarfTherapist can start the dwarf fortress
process directly it would mean the need to disable the ptrace limitation is
removed (no system-wide security) and/or stop the need to run this program as
root (which opens up another security violation vector).
