Extension not updating on Chrome web store #6158

Hi there - Thanks for maintaining this repo to save us all on clicking and wasting our lives in this gdpr hell.

Recently on noticing that several websites were showing cookies on visit - I noticed that chrome webstore is not getting new release of this app since Feb '23 even though code changes are coming in it seems.

Should we put some tooling in place to release to chrome store regularly on code updates as well? Or, installing from source is the recommended way now?

I'm not sure what is happening here anymore and there hasn't really been any updates since then really. There has been some communication regarding a safari port but that is about it really unless I have missed something. Just like the Chrome version, the firefox version has not been updated since either to my knowledge.

I feel like the developer needs much more support and help dealing with all the reports coming in daily of which there appears to be 100's every week.

Issues automatically being created seem to be mostly a developer's bot assistant (@OhMyGuus-Bot) which tag a new one for each website where it fails of sorts it seems - and discounting them it's quite manageable set of issues IMO and I'm sure dev/users like us will be happy to tackle them with PRs if @OhMyGuus will proactively co-ordinate as lead maintainer for this.

Unfortunately - in the meantime I have decided to go back to original extension - which is more functional it seems at least.

I scanned through the code and basic architecture of finding specific DOM elements just don't seem scalable across entire web and be better served via traversing up the DOM tree starting with key search terms (cookie, privacy etc) and clicking the accept button when seems appropriate enough. A rewrite would better serve for that design probably than expecting this project to revive maybe.

Whilst a rewrite seems like a large undertaking is there any interest from anyone to do so. A project like this needs a lot more than one person running the show. I would like to see this project continue but we just need that engagement with @OhMyGuus for that to happen. I don't know if this has become abandoned at this point or if there is some sort of attempt happening in the background to rewrite and clean up the code. The To Do list certainly indicates that it is on the list of things to do but remains unfulfilled and has been for a long time now.
