Collect existing Start-Scripts and ship openHAB #282

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Currently openHAB ships with simple start scripts which aren't optimised for
target platform as well as they cannot be used as automatic start scripts.
There are already scripts available in the community which should be collected
and shipped with openHAB.

AFAIK there are scripts for:

* Raspberry PI
* Ubuntu
* Arch Linux
* ??

Please attach your existing scripts to this issue (with a short comment what
works and which functionality is probably missing)

pretty important for me to be able to have the system lose and regain power and
be able to automatically return to normal operational state.

This is the script I use on my Ubuntu 12.04 headless server. You can
start/stop/restart the service using 'sudo service openhab start' etc.

Great idea!!

But make sure to point out the parts which needs to be edited by the user. :)

Like "RUN_AS=ben"

Just to make it foolproof.

I have created small upstart config for openhab. Does the same as the init
script.
Starts openhab automatically when network is available.
