Updated from PR #4 - I would like to offer some additions:

Added some basic tests
- checking for function side effects to make sure code is evaluated when expected
Make cache and cache_load invisibly return the paths to cache files
- This should probably be made a named list in the future
Fixed the issue where cache_load() (without arguments) does not load all the cached files
