Option to automatically remember volume for each specific device #101

This would be useful for the Audio Jack device. Currently I set the volume low
for Audio Jack so that I don't accidentally blow my ears off when I plug in
headphones. However, it'd be even better if it remembered the volume I had set
the just before the last time I unplugged the headphones.

It already does this. If you have A2DP adjust the volume, it first captures
the volume that you had currently. Then it makes the adjustment. Upon
disconnect, the original volume is restored. There is also a volume ramping
feature in the preferences. This prevents the issue you are having, although
in a different way.

Are you requesting that I capture the volume just before the device disconnects
to automatically override your device specific configured volume? Please
clarify.

I want A2DP Volume to remember the volume from the last time the "device" was
used. So at disconnect it would record the volume. At reconnect it would
reestablish the previously recorded volume. Essentially I want to be able to
mimic the behavior of the iPhone where speaker and headphone volume are tracked
separately.

Have you looked at all the volume control apps on Google Play store? I think
there are several free ones that do that.

I guess I could implement a preference to automatically capture last used
volume while the device was connected and store that as the device volume
level. I think that would do what you want and this might be simpler to use.
I will consider this for a future release. Should not be too hard to
implement.

I am one of those non-iStuff guys so "mimic iPhone" would certainly not be my
intention. I prefer to far exceed iStuff. In my opinion, that is not too hard
;).

Yes that is exactly what I'm imagining. Thanks for considering this. In general
I've been very happy after switching from an iPhone to Android but the iPhone
handles volume a bit better out of the box in my opinion. However, A2DP Volume
was a great find for me. The automatic car GPS location and disabling of wifi
on bluetooth connection are brilliant. Because of the flexibility that your app
(and Android) allows I can configure things exactly how I like them.

I installed 2.8.0 and it doesn't seem to work quite right. I have the
"Automatically remember last used media volume on disconnect" enabled for Audio
Jack. With no headphones connected I start playing a podcast via DoubleTwist
with the speaker/media volume set to ~80%. I plug in headphones and the volume
changes to 100%. I lower the volume to ~10%. I unplug the headphones (which
automatically stops playback for the DoubleTwist app). I see the media volume
is adjusted back to ~80%. So far, so good. Now I resume the playback and then
reconnect the headphones. The media volume change overlay is displayed but the
volume stays at ~80% rather than returning to ~10%. My phone, if it matters, is
the LTE Galaxy Nexus.

Correct. there was a bug in 2.8.0 which I fixed in 2.8.1. You can download
and test 2.8.1 in the downloads area now. Please try it and confirm you issue
is fixed. Thanks for testing!
