Can't install regular and italic variants at the same time on Windows 10 #5

Open joaopaulo1511 opened 3 years ago

Although Windows 10, version 20H2, recognizes OpenType Variant Fonts, the Faustina and Manuale variants for roman and italic forms can't be installed together: Windows complains that Faustina is already installed and asks if we want to replace it, instead of adding the font.

Other variant fonts don't have this issue (Merriweather Sans, for example).

Could you please fix it?

STAT table has issues. gftools gen-stat could solve the problem.

See google/fonts#2391

@thlinard @joaopaulo1511 We have just uploaded updates to the fonts, these are made under the new way of exporting from Google fonts, as this project had not been reviewed for a while, it is possible that these characteristics were not a problem at that time. Please check if the problem was solved. Thanks for the report.

Actually, no, it's worse. You forgot the italic axis.

The VF version of Google Fonts, in MS Word for Mac:

Faustina

Your new version:

Faustina

But the solution is simple: go to the config.yaml file of Texturina and copy-paste in https://github.com/Omnibus-Type/Faustina/blob/master/sources/config.yaml all the relevant lines for the italic axis (axisOrder: ital, name: Italic tag: ital, etc.).

With the corrected version you should get what I got myself:

Faustina-corrected
