As already mentioned on Discord I have the following propsoal:
Would it be possible to generate thumbnails with isometric perspective ‘from above’ by default?
What I mean is to have the orientation standard from FreeCAD followed by LENS.
It's expected to see this isometric view from FreeCAD:
Actual view in LENS (Thumbnails as well as initial explore view of a FCStd.-file) is like this:
Futher requirement:
It would be nice to have control over how, i.e. in which view perspective, the thumbnail as well as the intial explore view of a file is made available to the webpage user. Likely this control could be set in FreeCAD WB Lens while the thumbnail is generated by FreeCAD:
However, I do not know what is inteded by the thumbnail shown in FC WB Lens: is it supposed to show/represent the file as locally available in FreeCAD or is it supposed to show the file as it is currently availalbe on LENS drive?
Thus maybe (?) two such thumbnails need to be shown in FC WB Lens:
one for the 'local' file, e.g. in the stage of (Local copy newer)
second one for the file on LENS drive with its latest version info and commit info text
