I currently have all my pictures and videos stored in pCloud and am using it as a location.
After the location finished "importing" all images and videos (this took 8h+ for ~37k files), I was presented with a screen full of thumbnail-less files.
What I found out so far is that:
IF I have my thumbnail size set to Medium or smaller:
each file (regardless of if it already has a local thumbnail generated on disk or not) displays a spinning circle/donut for at least 10 seconds before actually showing the thumbnail.
sometimes the thumbnail is never displayed and a sad emoji with X as eyes is displayed
video files never display a thumbnail and hover never works
IF I have my thumbnail size set to anything larger than Medium:
each file displays it's thumbnail in less than ~2 seconds (I rarely see the spinning circle/donut).
One thing to note is that even when a file is still not displaying a thumbnail, if I press SPACE to enter preview, half of the time I'm able to load the image instantly and the other half I just wait for 2-4 seconds for it to load.
Also, I'm glad yall forked Allusion! It's an awesome software to manage pictures and it needs to be kept alive!
