GFE is now outdated and is no longer available. I'd switch to sunshine (which is open source and is maintained.) if you are able to.
Is your TV connected via wifi or ethernet cable?
Usually stutters and spikes are likely a network issue and usually the cause of it is if the TV is plugged via ethernet, samsung has limited the ethernet ports so it's recommended to have the tv connect via wifi instead.
in some cases it may be a misconfiguration of some sorts that may cause the spikes/latency issues.
and also what are your settings on the moonlight app that you have set? e.g hvec... 20mb... ect...
(just noticed you mentioned an apple mac laptop?, apple is sort of known to cause issues streaming at times, i guess. not sure where to start with that as i use windows lol. im sure someone with an mac can chime in and help on that side.)
I've been using GFE just because it was easier and it still seems to work when connecting to the client. I dunno if its gonna disappear someday. I tried Sunshine as well at some point but I think it was just the same.
Host PC it connected by ethernet cable and the Samsung TV by WiFi.
Client settings wise I have tried pretty much everything. My preference would be 1080p 60fps. I've tried H.264 and HVEC. Result has been pretty much the same. Laggyness and latency.
Shame I don't have any other device I could try Moonlight, Macbook was my only choice :D and it has been working but I would much rather be using the TV app. Damn them for killing steam link....
I dunno if its worth mentioning as well that my GPU is GeForce GTX 1660 Super.
UPDATE: Tried Sunshine again yesterday with the TV plugin and to my huge surprise this time it wasn't terrible, but actually pretty good and playable. I guess I figured out the right combo of settings this time :D Clearly switching to Sunshine was the MVP since there is no lagging anymore or tearing and the input latency is doable to play Crash Bandicoot fe. :D
I didn't fiddle with Sunshine at all, just installed it. On Moonlight my settings are 1080p, 60fps, 60MB. I'm not sure what should with the additional toggles. Mainly frame pacing, optimize game settings and sync audio? What do those actually do and should I be using them?

Glad switching over to sunshine worked. I usually keep mine at defualt, so I've no idea what the last three options are or if they actually make a difference on samsung tv/Tizen.
I know on android the frame pacing option makes a lot of difference there.
But if the stream works as is, I'd generally leave it alone as it is. Unless you can experiment around with the settings.
Hello,
issue old as time. I am having issues streaming to my Samsung TV using the Moonlight Chrome Tizen plugin.
The stream kinda drags behind and I get small lag spikes quite frequently. I've been trying to experiment with the plugins settings but even on the lowest settings the issues persist.
Odd thing about my case is that previously I have used Moonlight by using my MAC laptop as the client and connected that to my TV with a HDMI cable. With this method it has worked great, but now using the Tizen plugin I have these issues.
Do you have any recommendations for settings or a fix I could try to get it working better?
Thanks in advance, Aleksi
