[Bug]: push displayed without image #1786

What happened?

Push is displayed without image (failed to download it) if device was inactive for some time. Why is it happening and how can it be avoided

Steps to reproduce?

1. wait 15-30 minutes for device to go idle
2. send push with new image that have not been sent to this device
3. expand notification in status bar
4. note no image

on the log i have got from connecting to device via wifi got:
              I  App is in background, show notification
              W  Could not download image!
              V  Cannot use background images in notifications for device on version: 33

What did you expect to happen?

Expected app to download the image and show it in notification

Hi @Popda thanks for reaching out! I see in the log you provided mention of a background image, is that the image parameter you are using? Background images were deprecated after Android 11 so testing on Android 12 and 13 would not support an image sent as a background image.

Hi @jennantilla sorry for late reply, do you mean that parameter "Image" on a form "New Push Notification" is deprecated after Android 11 and "Big Picture" parameter should be used with it? image
