Checklist

Onions OS Version

4.3.0

Miyoo Firmware Version

202303262339

Provide a clear and concise description of the issue

Currently OnionOS does not support WPA-3 and cannot connect to my network that WPA-3 only, This is not ideal as new routers etc will be coming out soon that will default support for WPA-3 and people will struggle to get their devices to connect.

Currently I have my UniFi setup in WPA-2/WPA-3 support mode ideally I would like to switch over completely to WPA-3.

Steps to Reproduce

Attempt to connect to a WPA-3 only network. Most modern routers support it now.

Provide any additional context or information that may help us investigate your issue

Hey thanks for the report, this isn't really Onion specific I don't think unless it's the driver we're using. Have you tested in Stock OS with no SD card inserted? Does it connect there with WPA3 enabled on your router?

Aside from that, not sure i can help with this one I'm afraid as my router doesn't support WPA3. Hopefully someone else can take a look!

Here's some info about the chip which does mention SAE support but unfortunately I can't test this.

The only documentation i can find suggests to try modifying your network in /appconfigs/wpa_supplicant.conf to contain key_mgmt=SAE eg:

network={
        ssid="xxxxxxxxx"
        psk="xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"
        key_mgmt=SAE
}
