Issue with Graves in Grottos? #831

Open r0bd0g opened 5 years ago

r0bd0g commented 5 years ago

If you exit a grave out of a grotto, and then void out, you respawn inside the grave instead of at the entrance you took into the area that has the grotto.

(I'm a bit worried there could be a more serious consequence hidden in there somewhere. Let me know if you can think of anything.)

Zannick commented 5 years ago

Can you clarify what you mean by this? A grotto entrance, say, in DMT, leads to a grave, and voiding out after leaving it returns you to the grave, instead of DMT?

Roman971 commented 5 years ago

If I understand the situation properly, I don't think it should ever be a problem but I guess it's different from the usual grotto behavior so it's not very consistent. As far as I know the only reason voiding out doesn't load you back in the grotto is because loading inside a grotto is a hardcoded routine only grotto actors can do (in the original game code at least).

It's low priority as far as I can tell, but when I have time I will try looking into how grotto voids are handled in the code and see if the same thing could be done for "graves inside grottos" in ER.

Yes, Zannick, that's what happens.

Do the patches made for mixed pools on Dev-R affect this at all?
