Unable to download expansions list due to "addons.oolite.org not found". #418

Just installed oolite v1.90 Can't download expansion list from in-game Expansions Manager.

Got this in the latest.log:

19:27:33.182 [gnustep]: 2023-04-03 19:27:33.182 oolite[94028:94028] Host 'addons.oolite.org' not found using 'gethostbyname()' - perhaps the hostname is wrong or networking is not set up on your machine

This is because the oolite.org domain has been down since March 13th 2023.

The good news is that you can point Oolite to any domain you want for downloading the expansions list and the replacement domain oolite.space is already up and running. The solution to your issue can be found in this forum post: http://www.aegidian.org/bb/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=21368

Please confirm that this worked for you (make sure to backup your original .GNUstepDefaults file before applying any edits as discussed in that post).

Thank you. It's oolite.plist file in my system (Manjaro linux) instead of .GNUstepDefaults but the solution works.

@AnotherCommander do you have an idea where i can patch the index url in the Mac version?

On Mac OS X, your defaults are saved in the following location in your home folder:

Library/Preferences/org.aegidian.oolite.plist
