It is not possible for Open-Shell installer to uninstall Explorer.

Maybe what you experienced was that installer asked to restart Explorer (because it still used Open-Shell binaries that were going to be deleted), but then Explorer didn't start and you saw empty screen. This happens from time to time (not only for Open-Shell) and we have no clue why.

If you are in such situation, press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to run Task manager and then start Explorer via File -> Run new task.

thanone2 commented 6 months ago

I already did this and explorer.exe was missing from system32, I even restarted the computer and nothing happened, then I just reset windows.

explorer.exe was missing from system32

Explorer is located in C:\Windows\explorer.exe. There is no need to browse for it, just type explorer in the dialog and run it.

I even restarted the computer and nothing happened

Blank screen again? Then I guess something blocked Explorer from running. Hard to tell what.

then I just reset windows

I assume you are no longer able to replicate the issue, right?

thanone2 commented 6 months ago

I don't want to replicate this issue also I searched other places btw, plus I searched for it first and it said "not found"

ge0rdi commented 6 months ago

Oki, so I guess we can close this issue as there is nothing we can do with it.

Quite Useless when it comes to Uninstall, There is no option to revert back settings to Original Windows Settings, So the only option left for users is to try Uninstall.

Insane Issue, After i tried to uninstall it, in the beginning explorer stopped working/responding after a while it crashed. Not even restart or new task creation was able to fix it.

I had use recovery restore to revert back changes.

if you're having this problem then try this ctl alr delete open task manager and run new task and type the following regedit (this should open windows registry) once in Registry Editor window, navigate to the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon Modify the ShellValue: Right-click on the Shell value and select Modify. In the Value data field, ensure the value is explorer.exe. If it's different, change it back to explorer.exe. it possible to break the computer this way SO JUST DO THE KEY THAT BEEN SAID ONLY

The main thing i pointed out here was about issue related with "Uninstalling or Removing or Reverting Theme". In order to so are you suggesting users, after uninstalling the theme software just open task manager and revert back registry values? Instead of creating a solution, make adjustments. Great.
