Same thoughts. I tried installing the two alongside each other, so I could get the customizable menu of Open Shell and the superior taskbar from StartIsBack++. Unfortunately, they are not compatible with each other. However, I have a solution for the icon size adjustment: Install 7+ Taskbar Tweaker, rightclick the systray icon, select advanced options and set "w10_large_icons" to 1. You can press the "Help" button to see what exactly it does. Also, you can adjust the "Show Desktop" button's width to match Windows 7's one: Also in advanced options, set "show_desktop_button_size" to somewhere between 10 and 15. 15 was the exact Win7 and Win8 default.
If just that one feature of 7+ Taskbar Tweaker "w10_large_icons" could be brought into Open Shell that would be great! Then I could install one less things. I have used windows 8.1 for the last several years with classic shell. I am now transitioning to windows 10 and almost immediately noticed how much smaller the task bar icons are, I really dislike it. Great job on open shell, no issues so far.
I've been using Open-Shell for a while in Windows 10 and really happy with it, just the taskbar needs a bit more love. If you take a look at StartIsBack++ you can skin the appearence of active programs in the taskbar and the taskbar icons under Windows 10 are larger - just like Windows 7, so the taskbar
The Windows 7 taskbar skin of StartIsBack++ can even graphically show multiple instances of a program in the active program highlight - a very helpful feature just like Windows 7 does and something Windows 10 is just useless in,
I tried using StartIsBack++ instead of Open-Shell, but didn't get along with it. The taskbar is nearly perfect there, the start menu however isn't and not what I get along with in my daily usage with Windows.
So I'm begging you, please do many users a great pleasure and include a way to select the picel size of taskbar program icons and the ability to use a own skin for indicating active programs.
