I'm unable to reproduce such behavior 😞 I've tried clean OS environment with clean Open-Shell installation and custom start image was working without any issues.

Can't you have some other software interfering with Open-Shell? Don't you have some customization SW or some extensions in explorer?

@WHCTHBD Does this also happen in Windows Sandbox? If it works in there, it probably isn't an Open Shell issue.

Sorry, I can't reproduce this. I suspect that if it is a strictly Open-Shell issue, it is probably due to the combination of both the Taskbar skin and custom Start button.

Tried in a VM with the same version installed. Clean install. Same issue. I don't have access to Sandbox on my license.

Nope. Even tried on a clean VM install. Same thing.

I have had this same issue for the last two days, but I use an aero glass taskbar, and the button isn't actually disappearing. What's happening is the taskbar is being placed on top of the button when using a custom start button. I can still see the button underneath the taskbar through the aero glass effect. This happens every time I click on the taskbar, and goes back to normal if I click the desktop, or the area of the taskbar that is concealing the start button.

I have no clue what's suddenly causing this behavior, as I've neither installed new software, nor updated Windows for several weeks before this started happening. When I first noticed this, I restarted, and that did not fix the issue. I updated Open-Shell, which I hadn't done for about 6 months, and it went away for a day, but now it is happening again. I haven't changed my options in Open-Shell for many months.

I should also note this only happens when you replace the start button. Choosing any of the options to replace the start button results in this issue, but using the Windows 10 start button fixes it.
