Translation - Use Classic Shell translation #77

Open bovirus opened 6 years ago

bovirus commented 6 years ago

The current Open Shell menu it's only in English.

The original project (Classic Shell was multi-language).

Is it possible to import all translations from Classic Shell project into Open Shell Menu project?

Thanks.

Why are you spamming these hourly instead of editing your first one? And please be specific, you're talking about the Open-Shell Menu Settings interface: Imgur

AveYo commented 6 years ago

Just to expand on this: original did not have those translated by default either. You had to click Update language and it would install a different dll from the internet.
At least for Spanish. More languages had updates, but not all of them.

@AveYo

I'm the official Italian translator of Classic Shell. Classic Shell had different installer one for each language.

In this project in main home page on github

Then before to start to install I made the request.

If the info was available in the home page probably I don't need to ask that.

Thanks.

I'd say I have put more effort into describing your issue than you did initially.
Why did you not start with this last post from the get-go? And yes, this is an unfortunate oversight from the current devs.

In the mean time, one can download the original translation dll from http://classicshell.net/translations/ and just place it in C:\Program Files\Open-Shell folder.

For installer you're out of luck.

I'm sure there are plans to fix this in the future (switching to text-based translations would be great).

@AveYo

Thanks for the info.

I believe that could possible to integrate the translation in the installer to have in one single file all translation that you need to download separately.

This way is so outdated. Why can't a single installer include all translations (in the same exe, without any separate download)?
