Criteria: Quality requirements: timeliness #14

Open timgdavies opened 8 years ago

There are two dimensions to timeliness:

For example, if a project is planned for next year: (a) will it appear in the next release of data; (b) when is the next release of data?

In a quality framework for ag investment data we may wish to establish a metric on timeliness.

@stevieflow reports that:

Quarterly is the default for IATI, although not all publishers observe this - http://dashboard.iatistandard.org/timeliness.html

ACTION: propose our metric for timeliness

mikecastro commented 8 years ago

From our consultations, the timeliness criteria mattered during which phase of the project cycle they are in. Donors, foundations, and NGOs need the majority of information during the planning phase. At minimum, they need this information on a quarterly basis. NGOs would prefer information to be available sooner to respond to proposals and on the ground can pivot and change course on programs currently being implemented.
