Maybe a starting point for this would be to review some project documents to see if those details are available there? DFID may be a good starting point since they tend to include links to project documents in their IATI file.
In an ideal world, the private sector would have detailed information on the costs of goods and services. Possible alternatives though are:
Would we be able to autotag a new field with extracting information from documents, AidType, FlowType, FinanceType?
@timgdavies in #13 mentioned AidType and FlowType. FinanceType does include Subsidies to national private investors (100) and Interest subsidy grant in AF (210).
Our discussion at the ICT4Ag conference brought up that it would be good for organizations to report on if they are providing agriculture inputs at what cost they are doing so, if they're giving them out for free, subsidized, etc.
This could then be used to compare agains market rates or against if donors projects undermine each others or the local economy.
Should we try to see if we can improve reporting on this information and how could we do so?
