Research IATI Humanitarian "extension"

IATI has a relatively new function for reporting humanitarian data

Key documentation is provided on the IATI standard site.

It's worth looking into:

a) background in terms of developments / discussions / acceptance ( @lgrino - there will be evidence to point at via IATI Discuss)

b) how this has been structure and delivered (I will do the next post)

c) take up so far - via IATI dashboard, for example

This will be good learning to assess any Ag related developments in relation to IATI

Key characteristics of humanitarian reporting

How this "package" is structured could be summerized as:

1 - Additions to the standard

• A brand new element: humanitarian-scope
• new codelists (for use with the new element): HumanitarianScopeType and HumanitarianScopeVocabulary
• new attributes to existing elements (acting as yes/no flags): iati-activity/@humanitarian
• additions to existing codelists: SectorVocabulary & PolicyMarkerVocabulary (alhough this seems to be missing: https://github.com/IATI/IATI-Codelists/issues/94)

2 - Extensions

This package is integrated within the formal standard , so no extensions are in use

3 - Implementation guidance

According to Wendy, the Disasters Emergency Committtee has started publishing using the GLIDE codes for the humanitarian scope vocabulary. The Secretariat is also working on updated guidance for humanitarian reporting.
