[BOSS] Dark Souls III Bosses #77

Here are two bosses that I absolutely loved + one interesting boss in Dark Souls III and I'm not suggesting new mechanics, just some inspiration for boss designs.

Unnamed King

A bad ass boss that has two different stages that require very different approaches to finish him off. A cool ride that dies with the first stage is appreciated!

Abyss Watchers

Starts off with one really strong boss, you start hitting him then another one (or two) revives and they might attack each other (Free For All situation, like the boss fight in DS3) you have to kill the boss to get the items and experience, so you would have to time the last hit with your team. Licensing the Abyss Watchers original soundtrack is really appreciated!

Lorian and Lothric

Simple dual bosses, that one of them revives the other, it's not a brilliant one but it can prevent players to kill some bosses earlier than they should

I love to see Dark Souls/Blood Borne style bosses in AA2 :)

Baumi (as you can probably tell) has taken a lot of influence from Dark Souls. We will have some bosses inspired by them, I'm sure. On to your suggestions: as of currently, all boss designs have three or more phases, so as to give players some time to "get to know" the bosses. It's a pretty neat way to lower the learning curve. The Abyss Watchers sound cool. Think you could come up with some mechanics for them? I'm worried about the FeelsBad of people who fail to last hit the boss - if the bosses have more damage than the players, it could be random luck. Lorian and Lothric sound similar to ideas which have been proposed before. Perhaps other people have taken them as inspiration?

He mentioned how much he likes dark souls a lot! that's why I suggested my favorite bosses :D The idea behind Unnamed King was not just a two phased boss, he was the hardest boss that I have ever killed and he had some pretty nice fighting mechanisms. I think using his powers and fight style is a good idea. Abyss Watchers was my favorite boss fight of all time, I got goosebumps when the fight started :D of course it would be stupid if people would lose the boss rewards because of a miss click or something, they could wait for them to lower their HP, and then lure them to different places to finish them off, or they could get gold/exp + items even if they haven't killed the bosses but that would be stupid because the abyss watchers (the original lore story in DS3) have been killing each other and reviving for a long time :D In case of Lorian and Lothric, that's why I said it isn't brilliant, just two bosses that the stronger one revives the weaker one

Oh. I don't know a lot of Dark Souls, so I didn't make those connections on my own. If you get the time, please post more about the mechanics you liked in the Unnamed King. It'll make for an interesting repository of inspiration for boss design.
