It's an interesting idea... but Tor is designed to used by multiple apps and it seems like a stretch to expect a single app to provide an interface to manage the config of another app.
The Tor config can have can have more than only one HashedControlPassword, so it should not interfer with other apps.
Also, OB can just create a backup file of the config before changing it.
Anyway, I think that it's good to have both, example:

Openbazaar should slipstream a hardforked Tor in the app.

I think that it will be useful that the user can set Tor directly from the interface, at the first run or even later.
