To Beer or not to Beer #7

Open sabas opened 10 years ago

sabas commented 10 years ago

A feedback given by a random visitor "in my city there are only ice cream or bars, not actual pubs". What about only showing the ones with actual beer-related tagging? (leaving to another page the display-all map)

Thanks for your feedback.

Yes, I think we will need to take into account the local specifities of each country to have a truly international project.

Here is a pad to define some local profiles : http://lite4.framapad.org/p/h0kWZG2mTR

Hi, trying to do a swedish translation, but find it impossible, since it seems like the map assumes that all nodes tagged amenity=cafe also should be shown on openbeermap, which is generally not the case in Sweden.

Please explain the criteria for a node to show up on the OpenBeerMap. How seems like the map shows amenity=pub and amenity=cafe as the same thing.

I have no idea what the logic behind the filtering described as <choix_bieres_tous " Boire !"> works. Need someone to explain it in details.

It looks like is shows nodes with the tagging (amenity=cafe OR amenity=pub)

Does this map assume that all amenity=cafe is a "Beer café" as described here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beer_in_France#Beer_caf.C3.A9s ?

For this map to work in Sweden, amenity=cafe must pretty much be ignored on a beer-map, if this is the only tag (except for the name tag of course).

A cafe in sweden typically serves coffee, ice cream, soda, and sugar-based baked stuff....not beer, and is most likely tagged as amenity=cafe

With regards

Hi,

Thanks for your feedbacks.

The first item, "boire" (drink), is used to display all the places where you may order a beer. As very few places have beers set in openstreetmap this item is set by default, in order to let people add info to these places.

The places shown are amenity : bar or pub or cafe or biergarten.

Some people told me that you cannot order beer in a cafe in their country. A pad is open to gather the local specificities to make Openbeermap more accurate all over the world : http://lite4.framapad.org/p/h0kWZG2mTR

Feel free to create a section for your country.

Regards.

@psvenz The solution to coffe shop-cafes is to tag them as cusine=coffee_shop. 18k tagged places according to taginfo - https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/search?q=cuisine%3Dcoffee_shop. Here in Norway it's the same case. No beer in cafes, so tagging with this should make it clear that this is a coffee place and not the international "cafe".
