Scale PDFs and Images by a percentage #1029

As a tutor of architecture, I would like the ability to scale PDFs and Images by percentage to scale to the Ruler widget.

Currently there is at least a workaround: Instead of scaling the background image or PDF, you can scale the ruler! Open the "Background" palette and - even if you have no grid - adjust the grid size. The ruler will scale according to the grid size.

And in the upcoming release 1.7.2 you will have a "snap to grid" function which enables you to resize and arrange objects so that they perfectly align with the grid. And as the ruler also follows the grid, this makes a perfect solution of your use case.
