My old files disappeared. How do I get them back? #994

I have 5 folders, with multiple documents in each folder. I was deleting about 20 documents from the "Trash" folder when the screen froze. When I closed OpenBoard and restarted it, all the documents from my 5 folders disappeared (the folders are empty). Only the documents from the "Trash" folder are still there. Is it possible to get back my old documents? If so, what are the procedures to access them? Thank you.

OpenBoard Version 1.5.4 OS: Windows 11 Home

Hi,

Sadly, your documents are probably definitively lost. Just in case, as it could be that your documents are still there but no longer readable, you can look in the document folder %localappdata%/OpenBoard/document to see if you can find them, based on the date in the folder's name, or the metadata.rtf file on each folder... but if they don't appear on OpenBoard, there's a strong chance that they have been deleted.

Please install the latest version of OpenBoard (1.5.4 was released more than 4 years ago), as a lot of issues have been fixed since, ones concerning trash, drag'n'drop, etc in Documents Mode.
