There are no structures like villages, strongholds or abandoned mineshafts yet.

Basically, when looking at strongholds, they already generate somewhat less coherent than they do in vanilla iirc. I also remember trying to fix village generation, but I only really got one well to spawn, no buildings or anything... So fixing that is somewhat hard. But the fact that strongholds DO work shows that it can be done.
